GENEVA AND AUSTIN – November 12, 2024 – Sonar, the code quality and security leader, has strengthened its partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) by joining its Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Accelerate Program. Participation in the program will allow Sonar to provide joint software solutions that operate on or integrate with AWS and increase the visibility of its services to AWS customers and partners. Sonar’s inclusion in the program also follows several AWS partnership announcements from earlier this year, including SonarQube Cloud’s availability on AWS Marketplace and its integration with Amazon CodeCatalyst. In addition, SonarQube Cloud was certified in June by the AWS Foundational Technical Review (FTR), indicating that Sonar’s SaaS offering meets the AWS security, reliability, and operational best practices, outlined within the AWS Well-Architected framework.
Sonar’s engagement in the AWS ISV Accelerate Program, a co-sell program for AWS partners, comes at an inflection point for the software industry as AI-generated code increases in pervasiveness and companies grapple with how to use it most effectively. Implementing automated code reviews and testing in the DevOps workflow is critical to enabling organizations to take advantage of all the benefits AI coding assistants offer without taking excessive risk.
Sonar’s participation in the AWS ISV Accelerate Program underscores its alignment with AWS’s rigorous standards of excellence and its commitment to delivering top-tier code quality and security solutions that support consistent, intentional, adaptable, and responsible code development.
“AI coding assistants like Amazon Q Developer are transforming the way developers work, but also necessitate a renewed focus on quality assurance,” said Harry Wang, VP of Growth and New Ventures at Sonar. “Our code quality and security solutions enable software development organizations to take a “trust and verify” approach, providing the essential checks and balances needed to leverage the full potential of AI while safeguarding against security issues or low-quality code that can accumulate into technical debt. Increasing our collaboration with AWS enables us to further the reach of our offerings and bring the value of Sonar to more organizations and developers globally.”
"Through our strategic partnership with AWS, we are able to bring our industry-leading SonarQube offering for code quality and security to every developer that seeks to write better code, for better software. Especially in the age of AI, we are focused on delivering developers the tools they need to ensure all code is fit for production, particularly with the introduction of our AI capabilities, AI Code Assurance and AI CodeFix,” said Andrea Malagodi, CTO at Sonar. “With AWS as our trusted partner, we are harnessing the power of cutting-edge technologies, driving innovation, and delivering exceptional value to our customers. This collaboration has truly been a game-changer, propelling Sonar to greater heights and reshaping how quality software is built."
Sonar helps development teams of all sizes consistently write robust, secure, and dependable code. It is focused on working with its partners, like AWS, to ensure it meets the needs of organizations as they continue to grow their AI usage. When generative AI coding assistants, such as Amazon Q Developer, are paired with solutions like SonarQube for continuous code evaluation, developers are enabled to integrate AI tools more confidently into their software development lifecycle and accelerate innovation safely and responsibly.
